Alex Palmeira is one of the catalysts of the ACTS Church Planting Movement, a movement with church planters in more than twenty countries. He serves as Vice President of the Southern New England Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in Massachusetts. Twenty-one years of ministry took him from a local district in Brazil to the executive level of a conference in New England, carrying the same question through every role: how does a church reproduce? He has served as district pastor, director of Sabbath School and of Personal Ministries, Ministerial Secretary, Executive Secretary, and for seven years as director of Global Mission for the Southern Union in Brazil — work concentrated in structural church planting, urban mission and congregational revitalization. He holds a Bachelor of Theology from UNASP, a Master of Theology from Faculdades Batista do Paraná, where his research concentrated on missional ecclesiology, and a Master of Theological Studies in Missiology from the Adventist Latin-American Theological Seminary (SALT) at UNASP. He has taught missiology and ecclesiology as a visiting professor at the IAP Theological Seminary (Brazil).
What drives the work
MISSION
God’s purpose in my life is to help others discover their vocation.
VISION
Catalyze movements of disciples who make disciples, leaders who generate other leaders and churches that plant churches.
Never underestimate small beginnings. Movements emerge in silence, gradually, allowing the competence of the Holy Spirit to be felt and manifested in the lives of all who experience its effects.
